It's a rainy weekend here which, all in all, I'm finding quite comforting. I have a bit of a cold so hanging out swirled up in duvet is too much to resist.
Also I made pear and blueberry cake because a friend gave me some pears from her garden, and it is yum! I'm so pleased when something I make actually turns out all right.
I've been watching Hatufim (Prisoners of War) which is so ridiculously well made I can't get over it. I love how it shifts through the different time periods so seamlessly. The torture is hard to watch but unlike, say, Game of Thrones' Theon storyline this year, not one second of it has been gratuitous, always always something important is going on for the characters. Usually something devastating, but still. I've put off watching it for so long because of how grim I thought it would be but it's also a relief to watch something so carefully and intelligently crafted. All the characters get so much attention and the fallout for all concerned and the society beyond have not been brushed aside or undermined, in fact that is where all the drama is based.
I love how Uri and Nimrode's symptoms are different, their reactions and coping mechanisms are both really complex and still developing but are somehow seem really in line with the differences in their personalities. Also their relationship! *cries a thousand tears every time they hold each other, or sleep intertwined* I'm not sure I'm feeling the need to slash it per se, it's almost too intense but it is heartwrenchingly beautiful.
Anyway on to episode 7 now!
