I've been a busy fangirl lately and I have some fic and some recs and other things to share. <3

It was Bring Back the Porn day on IJ on Tuesday and I submitted two fics. One of which is a Mansfield Park, Fanny/Mary fic which will probably get very little love but which I enjoyed writing so much. I've just been away with my family on a Jane Austen themed holiday and my book to present on was Mansfield Park. We shared out all the books and gave talks and made films and songs and quizzes, had debates about Darcy's dubious moral code, played murder mystery games (I was Lady Catherine!) and cooked regency dinners and dressed up. It was the best family holiday!!! Anyway I came home and wrote porn which I won't be sharing with my family but am happy to share with you!

The Bed We Loved In was a Spinning World, NC-17, 2600 words, An afternoon by the lake - for one day Mary and Fanny are the masters of Mansfield Park.

I also wrote Spartacus (TV) fic, about Season 2 Lucretia lusting after pregnant Ilithyia: Cherish, NC-17, 1100 words, Lucretia hates to bathe alone.

I also want to recommend some fics that were submitted which I really enjoyed:

4 Spartacus fics by Aldiara - a saxa/belesa fic, a Barca/Pietros fic that totally broke me; and one sweet and sexy and one angsty but sexy nagron fic. Enjoy!

And for anyone that fancies some Eagle fic, of Esca/Marcus ironing out the kinks in their happily ever after, then Spaghettitoes's Status and Position is for you!

Oh hai! I'm just going to pretend I've been here the whole time.

Just read a great little Agent Carter, Peggy/Dottie fic by st_aurafina, Teamwork posted to FemslashFiclets which I started following this week. Definitely think writing a few femslash tidbits could get me through this upcoming revision!

I also posted Vikings fic this week!
Title: Purgatory Road
Author: Me!
Fandom (pairing/characters): Vikings, Athelstan/Ragnar, Odin.
Rating: Gen
Word Count: 948
Summary:There’s a god at the end of this road. Perhaps more than one.
Odin assists Athelstan in resolving some of the conflicts of Athelstan's afterlife i.e one more way to ensure Athelstan and Ragnar end up together.
Warnings: A character is dead. :O
Author's Note: Basically I wrote pseudo-religious backchat between Athelstan and Odin to try and resolve Athelstan's faith crisis and also get him to Ragnar in Valhalla. IDEK!

I had two other Vikings fans staying with me last week and pretty much forced them to write and post fic for me too! YAY GUESTS! So I'm thrilled to rec I Dreamed a Dream which is the fix-it fic we all needed after the Born Again episode by Lil. And Inga wrote sexy bathing fic from a happier time. So delightful!!
amoama: (millie susan interested)
I haven't had a chance to read much of the femslashex fic yet but I did a Bletchley Circle pinch hit that was a little Millie/Susan fix-it.

Title: The Sheltering Tree
Fandom (pairing/characters): The Bletchley Circle, Millie/Susan
Rating: Gen
Word Count: 2464
Summary: Susan gets an unexpected visitor in Mumbai.

I also posted a little Nashville schmoop while waiting for the new series to get started.

Title: That name, which is no part of thee
Fandom (pairing/characters): Nashville, Deacon/Rayna
Rating: Mature
Word Count: 1622
Summary: Rayna at 16

It was nice to do some writing-y things!!

Two Fics I posted for the Fic or Die Challenge:

Title: And Happy Are They Whose Hearts Are Set
Author: amoama
Fandom (pairing/characters): Teen Wolf - Isaac/Scott/Allison
Rating: Teen - the kissing rating
Word Count: 2296
Summary: Isaac settles cautiously into his new pack with Scott and Allison.
Disclaimer: The characters are not mine. I might however argue that I am doing them slightly more justice than their owners at times.
Warnings: THREESOME FEELINGS!
Author's Note: Thanks to Spaghettitoes for the beta - all mistakes mine though. Set early in season 3, after the janitor’s cupboard scene where Isaac and Allison are trapped (after Derek forces Isaac to leave and he goes to stay with Scott)…

Here on AO3

Title: Fever Dreams
Author: amoama
Fandom (pairing/characters): The Good Wife - Alicia/Kalinda
Rating: Gen
Word Count: 76
Summary: The itch under Kalinda's skin.
Author's Note: Barely a fic but I like it anyway.

Here on AO3

I also re-posted a couple of my Drabble Day drabbles that I still liked, one of which was Toews/Kane Hockey RPF. I swear, there is nothing like posting 100 words of Hockey RPF to AO3, it had something like 600 hits overnight. Toe-dipping into big fandoms is fun!

I'm looking forward to tomorrow when I will finally have time to settle in and enjoy all the lovely fics everyone else has been posting!

It's been a while for me since I've posted and now I find myself with lots of things I want to say. Mostly, hope you're all well!!

Under the cut: Canada! Renaultx! Rarewomen! )
amoama: (millie hmmm bletchley)
Yay for Bletchley watching, and icons from [insanejournal.com profile] 4nn4 and all the general loveliness of that show. Jean is still my favourite ever ex-SOE/Bletchley Matron/Walking Stick Wielder/Librarian but the Susan/Millie something ratcheted right up this series. Hence, fic!

Title: A Tree Called Life
Fandom: The Bletchley Circle
Pairing: Millie/Susan
Rating: Gen
Word Count: 2919
Warnings: Pre-independence Senegalese-setting but no actual Senegalese characters.
Summary: Millie and Susan always planned to get to Saint-Louis, although life gets in the way, eventually they both manage it. Thanks so much to [personal profile] lilithilien  for the indulgent yet handy betaing!

A Tree Called Life on AO3

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator.

Hmmm,

Silent, Greet The Dawn - I've been feeling very fond lately of the Nate/Ray, Ray/Batman, Generation Kill Fic I wrote for we-pimpin's boys of summer exchange a year or two ago. I guess because I didn't move it onto AO3 (basically because I couldn't be bothered to recode the way it's laid out) it never gets those out of the blue kudoses that tell you someone somewhere's still appreciating it. But I kind of feel it deserves it. *resolves to archive it properly*

Speaking of things I wrote for we-pimpin, I'm also super proud of a little Brad/Ray ww1 drabble for the prompt, Old Photographs. The sense of them in that time really appeals to me.

I think I need at least a year before I can look back and be pleased with the things I've created. Nothing from this year seems to be cutting it.

Choosing a fanmix for my third: Don't Tell The Beloved was a massive expiation of some very belated Remus/Sirius feels. I loved making it and I love listening to it.
amoama: (easy to love)
Oh ho ho, but there's been a good haul this year!
Christmas here has certainly been a bit chaotic what with a hospitalised grandfather, a stroppy uncle, a leaky roof, a brother getting married and almost-step-siblings turning up all over the place but I've at least managed to read all the lovely fic written for me. I'm still making my way through the excellent Generation Kill fic over on the YAGKYAS comm but I am taking note of everyone else's Yuletide recs with great interest!

I am so happy to have received, not one but two GK stories this year! It totally makes up for last year when I only pinch hit so didn't have a story written all for me. Both stories were Eric Kocher-centred and all kinds of awesome.

Squared Up  is an Eric Kocher/Doc Bryan story that is utterly glorious. It's full of anger and sensuality and an unwillingness to put up with bullshit. Sections of it sent shivers up my spine and made me want to cry with how beautifully their relationship was painted. There was also bonus Kocher & Colbert friends-chat which sealed the deal on this being the best thing ever.

The Exiled Prince is a GK/Avengers crossover of awesome. Ray as Iron Man. Nate as Captain America. Brad as Thor. Seriously. :DD I love that the author kept to the GK characterisations despite putting them in the Avengers world, that made this really special as well as a really fun read. It's written from Kocher's perspective but with a side of Brad/Nate that is quite delicious.

And for Yuletide!!!! My first time participating has been really fun and I got a fantastic Dance Academy story that really played into lots of things I love about the show, particularly the Kat/Abigail friendship that is the theme of the fic.
Making The Name Fit is a brilliant story about Kat learning to do away with her self-sabotaging habits with the help of Abigail's unique brand of friendship and honesty. I heart this story so much!!

[community profile] femslashex  reveals were this week! I feel so lucky, I got such a wonderful fic, exactly what I was hoping for in fact!!

Lights Earth With Her Silver is a Bletchley Circle fic by [personal profile] scintilla10 that focuses on Jean just after the conclusion of the season as she goes back to her life after all the excitement of reuniting with the Bletchley girls to solve the case. I love how it starts with that slightly weird city thing where you live intimately with total strangers whose lives you overhear through thin walls. I love how it takes that loneliness, combined with the loneliness of something ending, and secrets you are unable to share, and then gently opens Jean's life back up, showing her how her neighbour could be just as ready to share something new as Jean is. It's truly gorgeous! The OC is beautifully rendered and the tone is just so, so lovely. <333333333333

In return, I wrote Slowly, You Cleave To Her for AO3 user Aoife. It's a Vorkosigan Saga fic about Kareen Vorbarra and Alys Vorpatril. It charts their relationship from Alys's wedding to Gregor's. I had a lot of fun pairing these two up and thinking about how they would support each other and how their friendship could develop into something more.

I plan to give lots more of the femslashex fics a read so I hope I will be back with lots more recs!

Lovely weekend activities:

!! I joined the library finally near my new place and it had exactly the issue of Sandman that I've got up to, Go Tiny Library Go! (By which I mean, stay forever, back off Tories on the local council, back well off).

!! I watched Rush, and I loved it. Sure, there were a couple of overdone pumping sex to pumping car iron transitions )

!! Had a lovely roast dinner with my sisters, and contributed excellent yorkshire puddings!

!! Decided it was high time to move on the kink bingo card and tried to start small with the "tickling" prompt. So I wrote Les Mis, Jehan/Bahorel and there is a brief mention of tickling. So, yay?! A prompt is a prompt wherever it takes you right? I'm kind of liking it as an excuse to get to know Les Mis characters though. I also posted it to my tumblr because it felt like a transient kind of fic and also I'm ridiculously pretending to myself that I exist over there.

Some two years after the fact I'm posting a fic I wrote for Alles was Zählt - a couple of people did a rewatch and started chattering a little so I thought this was the time to get this fic off my mind and onto the internets.

Briefly, a summary, )

In response I wrote this fic, which I always wished I'd posted because I liked it and I liked the feel of it. Mostly, of these two survivors helping each other come to terms with the worst. But also, the idea that with Roman alive the two of them could never get on, would always be divided by their competition for Roman's affections; but without him there's room for them to have a different kind of relationship.

Title: The Unseen
Fandom: AWZ
Pairing: Deniz/Marc
Rating: NC-17
Word Count:3123
Summary:Roman is gone and Marc and Deniz try to find a way through the pain, anyway they can. Mostly they try sex.
Thanks to [insanejournal.com profile] aldiara for the beta. :D

Well this is some silliness. I've driven myself into a little frenzy of feelings about The Squad from The Lost Prince and have written fic about the two named members of it fighting in the first world war. Thanks so much to [personal profile] surexit for looking it over and smartening it up.

I got part of the title from The Weakerthans' song, Left and Leaving, which also has the lyrics:

I’m back with scars to show.

Back with the streets I know

Will never take me anywhere but here.

Not really relevant for the fic but still very Squad-feelsy, I feel!

Anyway, the fic is at AO3 or here:

This has been doing the rounds lately. Nothing too illuminating to see here. I mostly seem to go for very short to the point first sentences - mostly starting with a name - which are probably supposed to be portentious. Perhaps it's good to be aware of this tendency for the future! This year is all about trying to be more considered about what/how I write. Which has led to me not writing anything much, but hey! Have a meme about things I wrote last year instead.
Perhaps bear in mind that some of these were comment fic *flails around for excuses*
Also this exercise requires me to own up to a couple of Remus/Sirius fics that came into existence as an outlet for my gross feelings about them which I hadn't previously been aware of so watch out for those.
21 is a serious portion of all my fic ever! )

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you did not create. Drop a link to your post in the comments. See if you can rec fanworks that are less likely to be praised: tiny fandoms, rare pairings, fanworks other than stories, lesser known kinks or tropes. Find fanworks that have few to no comments, or creators new to a particular fandom and maybe aren't well known or appreciated. Appreciate them.

Posting my Drabble Day drabbles for archiving purposes in all their glory. ;)

The idea is a new prompt is posted every hour for 24 hours and you have the whole 24 hours to fill as many as possible. Sleep is a problem, as is working weekends! But I still made a respectable 17 fics mostly due to a last minute surge. Although nowhere near the winning 31!

They are all exactly 100 words and the prompts are tropes. :DD

I really enjoyed writing for some fandoms I don't usually write in, like Ship of Magic, Misfits, Slings and Arrows, and My So Called Life. Also fitted in Teen Wolf, Elisabeth, Merlin, Alles Was Zahlt, Supernatural and a little Hockey RPF that creeped everyone out.

Enjoy! )
amoama: (i like to be here)
Because [personal profile] aldiara and [profile] winterl0ver did it and so now I must do!

Title: I'd Left Him Dreaming (*steals from Laura Marling* idk titles - just had it saved as doppelganger fic)
Author: [personal profile] amoama
Fandom (pairing/characters): Generation Kill, Brad/Ray/(celebrity appearance by Eric Northman)
Rating: R
Word Count: 2000
Summary: Ray's current boyfriend looks identical to his undead-ex. Apparently this could be conceived as problematic. Basically smutty Brad/Ray with Voyeur!Eric potentially along for the ride.
Disclaimer: Not mine, not true, not possible.
Author's Note: I think this was originally sparked by a prompt on a comm somewhere but it was so long ago I can't remember and didn't save it anywhere. :C It's been lying forgotten as a WIP for ages because I kept thinking there was way more to do but when I re-read it the other day it was more complete-feeling than I remembered. :D

Author: [personal profile] wwmrsweasleydo
Reader: [profile] amo_amas_amat
Fandom (pairing/characters): HP: Ron/Draco
Rating: R
Word Count: 1334 (8.08 minutes)
Summary: For the prompt: "How beautiful you are! You are more beautiful in anger than in repose. I don't ask you for your love; give me yourself and your hatred; give me yourself and that pretty rage; give me yourself and that enchanting scorn; it will be enough for me." Charles Dickens
Disclaimer: All characters and settings remain the intellectual and creative property of JK Rowling. No money is being made from this work.
Warnings: Explicit sexual content and unrequited love.
Reader's Note(s): Recorded with the generous permission of [personal profile] wwmrsweasleydo. I have also used her summary/warnings/rating above. This is such a beautiful poem, I was recced it by [profile] notoriouslyuniq a few months ago and I've gone back to it a couple of times since because I like it so much. I recommend it even for people who usually avoid the pairing!
