Haven't really been too active here before now as I haven't had any friends on here I haven't had on other places like IJ and LJ but am definitely up for spicing up my reading pane here and making some new friends. I plan to do much better at posting here too from now on in case you do want to reciprocate friendliness in any way (please don't feel obliged or anything).
Anyway, in case you want a chance to evaluate if we might have things in common here's a few things about me (aiming for ten I guess as per
![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
1. This is the kind of post I could easily have a(n existential) crisis over if I don't power straight through it. Am pretty likely to write things I will cringe at tomorrow.
2. Fairly new to fandom, had a lovely introduction about 2 years ago before a little german soap died a slow painful death. Haven't looked back though.
3. Highly susceptible to other people's fandoms. If you're enjoying it, I will want to. If you write crossover fic in our mutual fandom with something else (especially something literary) I will read your fic and then go away and devour the other source. I have even been known to go away and read/watch the original source first in order to enjoy your fic all the more.
4. I probably friended you because you're into things it sounds like I'd like being into rather than because I know a lot about them right now. I love fandom as a way to expand my horizons as it were.
5. If you write or blog about Science Fiction and Feminism the chances are I already love you.
6. VERY occasionally I post about work stuff which can be quite sad from a human rights perspective (because asylum seekers) but I always try to balance it with happy fandom stuff and put things under cuts for you to avoid. I do believe in keeping my journal as fan-orientated as poss even though I also love hearing about other people's lives.
7. I'm mostly writing for Generation Kill and Teen Wolf right now, there's loads of things I'd like to write for but then get shy about. Especially for things where I'm just dipping my toe in the water and don't have a beta or something.
8. I love fanmixes - listening and making. I love listening to podfic and going back to comment on people's work. I love reading people's meta.
10. This is my friending meme info in case it's easier at this point to just see it here:
Name amoama
age(ish) 26
primary fandoms generation kill, teen wolf, slings and arrows
other stuff you're into, but maybe don't blog about (unless you find more people who'd want to hear about it) robin hobb books, sandman, remusxsirius, other things I am perennially behind on like merlin and misfits and all books. Parade's End if I wasn't sparing myself the annoyance about the Sylvia-bashing by not yet watching the last episode.
non-fannish interests? Human rights stuff – but try not to post too much, sf feminism and feminist writing in general, genderbending, matthias schweighöfer,UKLGIG, You Can Play, Alison Janney, Fugitive Pieces, poetry, rare pairings, character studies, ballet: all of it but especially Matthew Bourne (Gay Swans FTW) and Ballet Boyz. Some of that is still pretty fannish I guess.
my journal reads like... fannish but should post more probably.
f-list turnoffs Not sure. I guess if I didn't enjoy what you were posting I'd unsubscribe?
Hopefully see you around! <3
